SWEAT Lab is a choreographic incubator for emerging choreographers. This one-week residency provides early-career creators with choreographic mentorship, rehearsal space, professional dancers, technical & production support, a generous stipend and opportunities to present their work in a state-of-the-art performance venue. Through this residency, MOVE|NYC| provides the multi-faceted support choreographers need at the earliest stages of their careers in order to launch.

Excitedly, selected SWEAT Lab emerging choreographers and professional dancers are all MOVE|NYC| Young Professionals Program (YPP) Alumni. By nurturing emerging choreographers, MOVE|NYC|’s work extends beyond the creation of an industry pipeline. We strive to give emerging artists the opportunity to become leaders; by building their own repertories and creating bodies of work that will enable them to advance their careers and move the field forward.
