ColorCreative is a management and production company co-founded by Issa Rae, Deniese Davis, & Talitha Watkins. The company mission is to empower creators to reach their greatest potential by disrupting the creative industries and championing innovative and inclusive entertainment.
With her own unique flare and infectious sense of humor, Rae first received attention for her award-winning web series and the accompanying New York Times best-seller, “The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl.” She created and starred in the Peabody-award-winning HBO series, INSECURE, which garnered her multiple Emmy® and Golden Globe® nominations. Rae has also made her mark on the big screen, co-starring in Greta Gerwig’s BARBIE, which dominated theaters as the biggest box-office hit of 2023, SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE, Sony’s highest-grossing animated release in history and the award-winning AMERICAN FICTION.In 2020 Rae formed HOORAE, a multi-faceted media company that develops content across mediums in an effort to continue to break boundaries in storytelling and representation. HOORAE is comprised of HOORAE Media for film, tv and digital; Raedio, the music label, music supervision and "audio everywhere" company; ColorCreative, its management division; and FÊTE its marketing arm.Rae's commitment to South LA is evident in both her personal and professional pursuits. After planting roots near her childhood home, Issa set up the HOORAE headquarters in the heart of South LA. Her participation in the non-profit organization Destination Crenshaw furthers her mission of celebrating Black Angelenos and her ownership in Hilltop Cafe + Kitchen provides much-needed jobs and opportunities for local residents as well as a space for creatives to unlock their potential. Additionally, as co-owner of the Black owned and operated vegan hair care line, Sienna Naturals, Rae intends to continue to reimagine Black wellness and beauty. Rae recently launched Viarae Prosecco, a sparkling wine that's perfect for any occasion and represents the freedom to let loose and be authentic.
Deniese Davis is a four-time Emmy nominated Producer and the Founder/CEO of Reform Media Group. She began her career producing music videos, short films and digital content including Issa Rae’s award-winning web series "The Mis-Adventures of Awkward Black Girl". Her producing credits include: Sony/TriStar's theatrical film ONE OF THEM DAYS starring Keke Palmer and SZA, the upcoming independent film HARD FEELINGS directed by Jo Hatcher and financed by Tyler Perry Studios, two HBO Emmy-nominated comedy series’ INSECURE and A BLACK LADY SKETCH SHOW, and the MAX comedy series RAP SH!T. On the unscripted side, Deniese was a Consulting Producer for Hulu's THE HONORABLE SHYNE documentary and an Executive Producer for the PBS docu-series A TOWN CALLED VICTORIA. She also produced TT The Artist's debut documentary DARK CITY: BENEATH THE BEAT which premiered at SXSW and streamed on Netflix as well as the documentary INSECURE: THE END for HBO. She is currently in post production on an upcoming docu-series for TLC/MAX. Additionally, Deniese is a co-founder of ColorCreative, a management company with a mission to empower diverse creators by disrupting creative industries. An alum of CUNY Brooklyn College and The American Film Institute, Deniese sits on the board of Black Public Media, The Blackhouse Foundation, and is a founding member of AFI’s Alumni Council for the Lawrence Herbert Alumni Center (LHAC).
Talitha Watkins is President and Head of ColorCreative – a management and production company, founded by Issa Rae and Deniese Davis with the mission of delivering women and people-of-color creators’ representation to build career-defining brands through ownership, commercial success, and visibility amongst the multicultural community and industry.Formerly a Motion Picture Agent and Cultural Executive at leading agency Creative Artists Agency (CAA). Watkins is based in LA and represents producers, writers, directors and actors. Additionally, Watkins helps build out CAA’s multicultural business and capabilities.Watkins spent seven years as VP of Multicultural Marketing at Universal Pictures, where she worked across all marketing divisions, to maximize the studio’s outreach efforts to African American audiences. While at Universal, she worked on numerous films, including multicultural blockbusters and the success of African American films.Prior to Universal, Watkins was an Assistant General Manager with Telepictures Productions, Inc. and oversaw operations, sales, and marketing for five female-focused digital properties in the Warner Bros. portfolio. Watkins is a board member of the WIF, Saturday Morning, and Made in Her Image organizations. Watkins received her B.B.A. in Marketing from the Fox School of Business at Temple University. She lives in LA with her daughter, Selah.
